Q(csl) How do I set up the MMS?

Please follow the steps below:

Samsung Noted 3 LTE Android 4.3

Enter “Application”> “Settings” >select “More settings”> “Mobile networks” > “Access Point Names”, then fill in the information required with reference to the picture below:

Input “http://mms.hkcsl.com:8080”
MMS proxy: 10.140.14.10
MMS port: 8080

Press the “Menu” button and choose “Save”.

iOS

Enter “Settings” > “General” > “Network” > “Cellular Data Network”, then follow the steps below:

Q(csl) How do I know if I am using mobile data or Wi-Fi connection?

Most smartphones show different icons on the top of the screen indicating if Wi-Fi or mobile data is in use. Examples are shown below. Please refer to your handset user guide for details.

Q(csl) What is Internet tethering and how do I set up this function?

Internet tethering enables other devices to share Internet connection of your handset at the same time. You can connect your handset to other devices via USB/Bluetooth/ Wi-Fi.

Android 4.3

Applicable to Android Firmware version 2.2 or above only.

iOS

iOS version must be 3.1.3 or above and carrier must be 5.1 or 7.0 or above. If you are not using the above versions, you may connect your handset to iTunes and it will automatically require an iOS update.

Windows Phone

Only designated Windows Phone models have an “Internet Sharing” feature. For details, please refer to your handset manual or contact your handset’s manufacturer.

Notes:

Internet tethering is applicable to certain devices with designated tariff plans only.
Set-up procedures and options may vary depending on the handset model.
Activating Internet tethering will consume more power of your device.
If you move outside Wi-Fi coverage, your device will automatically connect to mobile data.

Q(csl) How do I avoid unnecessary data roaming charges?

To avoid unnecessary roaming data charges, customers may disable the feature that allows automatic connection to mobile data before leaving Hong Kong (the steps are shown below). This is because certain smartphones with capabilities of automatically connecting to mobile data for application/information updates or email download will result in frequent data usage. Please also note that browsing any websites overseas will incur roaming data service charges based on your data usage.

Q(csl) What is Auto Connect?

Auto Connect is a feature that enables your device to automatically switch from mobile data to Wi-Fi network is detected. After the first set-up, you may enjoy high-speed surfing experience without having to login every time.

Q(csl) When will I get my first bill if I am a new customer?

In general, the first bill will be sent to the new customer two weeks after the service becomes effective, but it also depends on the bill cut-off date.

Q(csl) Why are the service charges on my first bill different from those stated in my service plan?

We issue monthly bills to customers. If your service commences after the bill cut-off date, your first bill will include pro-rata charges between the service commencement date and the bill cut-off date together with a full-month advance service charge.
