Q: |
What is a tone-dial phone? |
A: |
On
a tone-dial phone, each number on the keypad (0-9) produces one sound,
or tone, when pressed. Some older types of phones produce multiple
tones (e.g., three tones when you press 3; seven tones when you press
7). If you're a frequent traveler, a tone dialer which converts pulse
signals to tone signals may be useful.
